Chrome Plated Shafts

🧱 What Are Chrome-Plated Shafts?

Chrome-Plated Shafts are hard, smooth, and corrosion-resistant shafts used wherever parts need to
slide,
rotate, or
carry load with
minimal wear.
They are widely used in linear motion systems, hydraulic cylinders, and industrial machinery.

  • ⚙️ High surface hardness (approx. 58–65 HRC)
  • 🛡️ Excellent wear and corrosion resistance
  • 🎯 Low friction coefficient with polished finish
  • 🧪 Thick hard chrome layer (typically 15–30 µm)
  • ✨ Precision ground & polished surface (Ra ≤ 0.2 µm)

Standard Sizes: Diameter 6 mm – 120 mm  |  Standard Length up to 4000 mm

Note: Cut lengths can be provided as per requirement.

Induction Hardened Chrome Plated Shafts

High Hardness
Wear Resistant
Long Service Life

Product Overview

Induction hardened chrome plated shafts are manufactured from high-quality steel bars that undergo
induction hardening followed by a hard chrome plating process.
This combination delivers excellent surface hardness,
high wear resistance, and smooth linear motion performance for
demanding industrial applications.

Manufacturing Process

  • Steel shafts undergo induction hardening before or after machining
  • High-frequency electromagnetic heating of the surface layer
  • Rapid quenching to create a deep hardened case on the shaft surface
  • Hard chrome plating applied for corrosion resistance and smooth finish

Key Properties

  • Surface hardness typically ~55–65 HRC (or higher depending on material & process)
  • Hardened case depth approximately 0.5–1.5 mm beneath the chrome layer
  • Tough core for better resistance to impact loads and fatigue
  • High dimensional stability for precision linear motion systems

Standard Sizes Available

  • Diameter: 6 mm – 120 mm
  • Standard Length: Up to 4000 mm
  • Customization: Cut lengths can be provided as per requirement
